For those of you who may feel as if we're a bit harsh...
Cut and paste this:

Coincidence that this is on yahoo's front page today?
You all must also know that this in no way reflects how we see or feel about those we love, but is more a comment on the fact that the article-link I've inserted above must be written at all.
And since we needed to go to the party dressed as "Americans"; we couldn't just show up as, well, ourselves!

So my parents decided to go out without me and get a little "sideways" ...again.
Their friends Ian and Zu had another killer theme party.
Can you guess what the theme was?
If you've guessed that the theme was to dress like an American....
You're correct!!!!
They're getting ready to move to Virginia and thus the American theme.
They're silly.

So I said to mom and dad, "Let's take a trip!".
So we did.
Guess where they decided to go...
The French Alps!!!
Yeeee Haaawww....!!!!
So off we went.
We met our friends Andrew, Celine, Martine (Celine's mom), and Nana (my mom's mom) in an amazing little village called Praz-sur-Arly.
We rented a "gîte" on the side of a mountain for the week.
The first day we all went on a hike to a nice little lake; were I had a few "firsts"...
My first ride in my new backpack-thingy...
...my first "gouter" (afternoon snack, pronounced "goo-tay") in a field on the side of a mountain near wild blueberry plants...
...and my FIRST cow experience!!
For those of you who might not know; a cow goes "mmoooooo".
So we did.

The Glacier!!
....amazing, just amazing!
On the way back down from the glacier, mom found an easier way to go...
so she hitched a ride...
She's a little nutty sometimes...
Dad said his "quads" were burning to the point of shaking after 4 hours of hiking with me on his back, so he made mommy take over.
Thanks mom!

So we went to a cheese farm to learn about, and purchase some, cheese, of course,
...AND I WAS ATTACKED BY A COW!!!!!!!
I screamed in delight as my new buddy let me touch him! It was a blast.
This is the "crew" at this amazing fountain at the cheese farm. It's all just two pieces of wood. The basin and the fountain.
And this is just two of the generations represented at he farm. The patron is 80 years old, 11 kids, and still works
every day inviting people to sample their wonderful cow and goat products. The two girls, her grand daughters, were
happy to hold me while mom, dad, and the crew, stuffed their faces with fresh products from the farm.
The last day..
After a "long day in the saddle", as mom and dad call it, I was ready to hit the road; so I did.
Before you leave the Gîte, you must clean it as if it was your own. Thus, I hitched a ride on the "pop-wagon" and scrub-a-dub-dubbed...

On the way home we decided to stop in Megeve to smell the flowers, people watch, and buy some bread at the, "voted", France's best bakery! Overall a fabulous day to end my frist trip to the French Alps.
Also on the way home; mom decided to try to catch some flys in her trap;-o
It helps if you put your head out the window mom.... :-|
