So mom was invited to give a talk about her bacteria (Listeria) at the University of Dundee in Dundee Scotland. Daddy was lucky enough to get to tag along as they "parleyed" the occasion into a mini vacation. I stayed with my Nana! (That's mommy's mom)
Their friends Nick and Steve (and their Guinea Pigs) were their gracious hosts. Nick is the head of the lab that invited mommy to be the guest speaker.

Their first full day was spent hiking along the coast between Pittenweem and Anstruther.

Steve climbed to the top of the local ship to check to see if the Pirates that had been following them were still there.
(...or, he was playing on playground equipment...not sure which is true.)

As you walk along the coast you just "happen" upon this golf course.
...and "hike through". Pun intended.

Daddy dreaming...

Once in Anstruther the crew ate at Scotland's "voted best!" fish and chips shop!

...where mom met a plastic dude in a yellow outfit.

On the way back daddy spotted this bird of prey. Not sure what it is. Aunty Janet and Uncle Art?

That evening they went to the mythic St. Andrews. Where, of course, daddy wanted to visit it's famous "Old Course" golf course. But, before the course, they were strolling along and nearly struck-down with laughter when they read the sign in this barber shop. Thought of you Uncle Bob. Perhaps you should try this to help people get through these rough times!

These Scots are Randy baby! Yeah!

This evening they went to the anniversary of the Scottish poet, Robert Burns, at a local meeting hall. A truly "Scottish experience". They ate Haggis (look it up) and danced the Scots version of square dancing. Totally fun!

The next day was spent hiking in the mountains. Snow, Lochs, and streams of dreams...

Daddy's last day was spent with mommy in Edinburgh.
Thanks again Nick and Steve for being such amazing hosts for my mom and dad!!!
