ok,ok tout le monde! (that's everybody) c'est les pyrenees. we are lucky enough to have a friend (Fred) that ownes a house in the town of Sassis (sa-cease). this little town is in the heart of the pyrenees and can be reached only by donkey! so, we loaded our ski gear on the donkey and left paris. 22 days later we arrived in Sassis! the people from this area of the pyrenees are called "toys" {really} they are quite small in stature and when the brits first visited the area they thought that they were so small that they were toys! (this is true!) not "real" toys but just a nifty way olf saying "cute little indigenous peoples". Fred is a true "toy". he comes up to my shoulder! but please don't be decieved by their size as they are quite strong little indigenous peoples and they ski very well, as the pyrenees are there playground! the previous panorama is from Luz Ardiden, a ski station just above sassis. mel and i would pack a picnic everyday (tout les jours{too-lay-jzure}) and find a belle piste (beautiful slope) and relax and enjoy the views. the only bummer about the trip was that our asses were tired, and our asses require a lot of upkeep. so, after utilizing our asses for such a long trip they needed pleanty of rest. this was supposed to be vacation right?
this is the view from Freds place in sassis (it's in a tree{not really megan}) that's the famous col du tourmalet. made famous by the tour de france.
that's fred on the left (not really megan) that's his wife jalle (jza-lay). fred is on the right.
this is what we looked like just before i took the preceding panorama.

Wow.....great to wake up this morning and share these pictures with the girls. The mountains are beautiful. Check out your brother's blog site and you will see that he too was on his ass in the mountains of North Fork. The girls described the whole scene this morning at the breakfast table!
27 days and counting down!
What beautiful pics! But out of curiosity why did you keep refferring to me in perenthesis? I'm not that blonde!
Groovy pics of the Pier-Wren-Knees.
I liked the mountain shots very much.
I'll be getting some pics of the girls in Cincy on the blog, too. Right now, I'm busy trying to understand what the heck everyone in France is fighting about.
